What brought you to yoga?
I took my first yoga class out of curiosity as a freshman in college, and I was immediately hooked. The feeling of lying on the floor in Savasana after an hour of paying such close attention to my body, mind, and breath was incredibly profound and transporting.

What inspired you to teach?
I’d been practicing for almost 15 years, and I felt like I had things to share from my own experiences as a student. I also wanted to learn more and take my practice deeper. During my training, I experienced a pretty serious health scare, and yoga was one of the key ways I stayed calm and centered, which reinforced my inspiration to teach; I wanted to be able to share this incredible resource with others!

What are three things you specialize in as a teacher?

  1. Accessing strength and space in the body
  2. Encouraging awareness of the many layers of our experience: mental, physical, energetic - with special attention to the nervous system
  3. Exploring interdisciplinary movement that pulls from yoga, pilates, strength training, and restorative practices, among other modalities

Describe the environment of your class:
I aim to offer classes that are accessible, encouraging, and creative. I want my students to feel free to move like themselves and make their practice their own, while also knowing that I am there to guide and support.
