What brought you to fitness?
Growing up, I was a competitive figure skater. I did a variety of cross-training to support my practice, including yoga, Pilates, ballet, and strength conditioning. I quickly realized the importance of proper form and mobility when it comes to injury prevention and recovery. Although I no longer compete, I continue to use what I learned to sustain and grow my practice.
What inspired me to teach?
During COVID, I began teaching Zoom workouts for my friends as a way to stay connected and active. I loved coming up with creative sequences and encouraging my students through uplifting and friendly instruction. I continue to share my joy for movement, and hope my students leave my class feeling reenergized and proud of themselves.
What are three things you specialize in as a teacher?
- Helpful instruction and form corrections
Providing varying levels of difficulty for an exercise to suit the needs of all students
Incorporating a variety of exercises and movements to keep workouts engaging and fun
Describe the environment of your class
My class will have an encouraging and supportive vibe. We will work through challenging exercises, but you will always be able to take it at your own pace and perform the variation that suits you the best. At the end of the day, you should listen to your body, and I will be very vocal about checking in with yourself and doing what’s right for you.
