What inspired you to teach?

I'm originally from Norway but moved to San Francisco 10 years ago as my wife is a native to the city. (I love it here and don't plan on leaving). Prior to becoming a Trainer, I managed construction projects. I've also played Rugby for over 15 years and competed in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Towards the end of my rugby career I was struggling with injuries and started using Kettlebells for recovery and injury prevention. This led to me training some of my teammates and becoming Barbell Certified (SFL) through Strongfirst. I quit my job and started training people full time. I then completed the Strongfirst Kettlebell Certification (SFG) which has a physical requirement of 100 Snatches in 5 mins. I will complete my Pain Free Performance Specialist Certification in December of 2019.

What 3 things do you specialize in as a teacher?

As an instructor my top skills are teaching, assessing, and queuing technique. (Specific to your needs and injury/mobility limitations) I pride myself on making strength training easy to follow and applicable for everyone. I am also very patient and have a positive attitude.

Describe the environment of your class:

My class environment is fun welcoming and inclusive. No matter how light you start, everyone can get stronger. I provide the technical details and encouragement you just have to show up and work hard.
