Training Philosophy

Energy circulates through our bodies just as it cycles through our ecosystems. Rather than breaking the cycles of energy we are stuck in, I seek to identify them and modify them slowly to find the most efficient and peaceful versions of ourselves. To find this we must also embrace that what that balance looks like changes through life like the seasons.

Hello, you can call me Bree! My background in sports, performance and fine arts, and my own struggle with health fuel my holistic training philosophy.

Balancing in this world is a dynamic exercise. I don’t believe in keeping things the same all of the time, but instead focus on minimizing those extremes between activity and rest or hunger and fullness. We know we need both. Often the frustration with body pain or aesthetics lead us to fight against what our bodies are trying to tell us, but I fully believe that when we listen we see our bodies can be much smarter than our conscious minds. Clearing our minds and connecting deeply with the body is an exercise in peace. Much like we practice this in exercise, in the theatrical arts and dance we need those same skills.

Through my experience with fibromyalgia from a young age and its subsequent effects on my weight and mental health, I have found great gratitude for how sensitive the body can be towards the natural changes that occur in life. This gives me a deep understanding of how to listen to my own body and empathize  with my clients. I now specialize in injury prevention and treatment, mind-body training, strength and mobility training with the focus on postural resets, and wow do I love some sports conditioning intervals to get that circulation flowing.

I live between Glen Park and Bernal Heights and am grateful to build a community close to home. I strive to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable to represent our minds and bodies honestly. I pay attention and offer modifications to decrease and increase intensity and always remind you to engage your core… through laughter

Nothing energizes me more than my PT sessions and group classes leaving people feeling full and inspired by the art in movement we have created together.

We all have different obligations that require our energy, and we all have different inclinations towards where we want to use any energy we have to spare. Skipped the last class to do some reading? Share what fascinated you!! I will never be a trainer that tells you that you are not working hard enough because fitness is not your job. My job is to support all of us becoming more in tune with what we need to feel our best.
